Bet they weren’t expecting that: Jeremy Corbyn’s armed cops draw guns on moped robbers
Robber draws knife, cops draw guns
A MOPED robber chose the wrong men to pull a knife on when he was tackled Jeremy Corbyn’s protection officers – who responded by drawing their guns.
The Labour leader was having lunch at the Beagle restaurant in Hoxton, London, when two armed protection officers on guard outside went to the aid of the robbery victim, believed to be an elderly woman.
As two suspects tried to escape on a scooter, one of the Met officers grabbed the rider’s arm, forcing them to stop.
When the pillion passenger drew a knife, the officers drew their guns and ordered the man to drop the weapon.
The knife-wielding suspect fled while the 17-year-old rider was arrested at the scene and appeared in court on Monday charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, two counts of handling stolen goods and driving without insurance or licence, according to the Evening Standard.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
