Faster Than Life Follows the TT’s Most Prolific Entrant
The trailer for a new Isle of Man TT film has been released, charting the story of Dave Madsen-Mygdal who has amassed 149 TT starts
As race fans we are all well acquainted with the stars of the Isle of Man TT, with many of them becoming household names.
The stories of those racers further down the grid are less well known, although that isn’t to say they are any less colourful.
A new film has been released and is available to download now, and it focuses on one racer who has amassed an incredible 149 Isle of Man TT race starts. His name is Dave Madsen-Mygdal, and the film, Faster Than Life, gives an insight into the road racing community, the highs, the lows and the generational involvement.
The documentary follows Dave and his team in the build-up to the 2019 TT races and culminates in behind-the-scenes action of TT 2022 - the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Isle of Man TT were both cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As a privateer at the races, the story follows Dave as he strips, cleans, and prepares his Supertwin bike for the event, and features extensive behind-the-scenes content from within the paddock, as well some epic on-board video as he flashes through villages at over 150mph.
The independent film has been produced by Felipe Costa and Chip Gulland who are based on the Isle of Man, and the final edit of the film is 99% complete. It will be available May 2024, and the proceeds from the pre-sale will allow the film to be ‘polished off’ before being submitted to film festivals.
More information on the film, and to buy a copy when it goes live, can be found on the official website.
