YAMAHA and Abarth have again strengthened their ties, with the announcement of their third collaboration in the form of the heavily branded Abarth 595 Monster Energy Yamaha.
Looking like a Valentino Rossi fans dream set of wheels, the new car is going to be a limited run of just 2,000 units and is to celebrate the partnership the two brands have had since 2015.

Aesthetically, the new car is clearly inspired by the livery of the factory Yamaha YZR-M1, with the exterior of the new special series featuring a dual colour blue and black livery – also available in all black on request. The paint scheme is adorned with the ‘Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’ logo on its lower side, just above the 595 logo. The special series is finished off with the Monster claw motif, ‘scratched’ on to the bonnet.
On the inside, the model features the special new Abarth sports seats with blue finishes and the Monster Energy Yamaha logos on the head restraints. The blue lining stands out from the black dashboard. Thus mirroring the dual colour livery, while the numbered plate is placed on the central tunnel.
The Abarth 595 Monster Energy Yamaha is equipped with a 1.4 T-jet engine with Euro6D TEMP homologation, with a manual transmission, but it can be fitted with an Abarth robotized sequential transmission with shift paddles on demand – delivering 165 HP.
While Yamaha and Abarth have for some time collaborated on such design exercises, they have only resulted in a motorcycle special on one occasion, in the form of the of the Yamaha XSR900 Abarth café racer - review below. The only other two-wheeled creation from the two firms was the Yamaha FZ1 Abarth Assetto Corse, although that sadly, remained a concept.
