BMW Motorrad to launch Heritage Ride & Style clothing collection
For the first time ever in BMW Motorrad's history, the company is launching its own Heritage Ride and Style garment collection.
With other automotive companies, such as Ford, branching out rather disastrously into the world of fashion with their Versace Ford collection [worth a look for the lols], BMW’s stylish clothing collection comes at an ideal time.
The BMW Heritage Ride and Style collection goes to show that Automotive companies can design trendy clothing that isn’t just a walking advertisement for the firm. Touché BMW, touché.
The 2020 collection will be available from January next year and features garments such as leather and denim jackets, long sleeve shirts, gloves, and signature boots. The range is inspired by the past but combines heritage with modern and contemporary style - with all the safety standards being met for the jackets and safety equipment.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. Yes, it does look a bit hipsterish… but hipster is in right now, because it’s an expressive, easy on the eyes, and comfortable style. Plus, who doesn’t like dressing up like an old school cool cat?
The materials selected such as the original BMW metal badge and copper-coloured details also hark back to the old school, mimicking the materials used on classic BMW motorcycles such as the R32, which first entered production in 1923 (see below). The ‘TwinStripes’ - as featured on many classic BMW motorcycles - is present throughout the entire collection also.
We can expect to see more of this collection up close and personal at the EICMA 2019 Motorshow in Milan.
