Ducati has renewed its long-standing technical partnership with the oil and lubricants firm, Shell, with a three-year extension to their agreement.

The collaboration between Ducati and Shell began in 1999 in the World Superbike Championship, and then expanded into MotoGP when Ducati entered Grand Prix’s top class in 2003.

The extension of their agreement sees Shell remain the supplier of engine oil to Ducati’s manufacturing facilities in both Italy and Thailand, as well as providing lubricants to Ducati’s global dealer network. More specifically, Shell will supply dealers with its Advance Ducati engine oil and Ducati Corse Performance Oil powered by Shell Advance.

The latter was launched in 2023 as an oil specifically designed for the Desmosedici Stradale R engine - derived from the Ducati Desmosedici GP engine from its 2015 MotoGP bike, and which can be found in the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4 ranges, as well as the new-for-2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 RS.

On Ducati’s renewal with Shell, Francesco Milicia, VP Sales and After Sales at Ducati Motor Holding, said: " Our Company firmly believes in the transfer of knowledge and technologies from the world of racing competition to production motorcycles. The partnership with Shell, which has been successfully at our side for more than 20 years, also follows this approach. The renewal of the agreement allows us to continue working together on increasingly high-performance products, with the aim of enhancing the performance of our motorcycles, as recently happened with the Ducati Corse Performance Oil Powered by Shell Advance."

Aysun Akik, Vice President of New Business Development and Global Key Accounts at Shell Lubricants, added: "The extension of our collaboration is testament to the strength of our 25-year relationship with Ducati, and will see us continuing to take the learnings and innovations from the racetrack to deliver better road-going products for the benefit of Ducati and Shell customers around the world."
