First details of CFMoto 800 NK revealed
Having been anticipated since last year, the first official details of the CFMoto 800 NK sports naked have been revealed.
The first details of the CFMoto 800 NK have been released, confirming the bike as a true contender in the middleweight naked segment.
The announcement of the Honda CB750 Hornet and Suzuki GSX-8S in 2022 breathed new life into the middleweight sports naked class, as they went up against the likes of the Yamaha MT-07, Triumph Street Triple and Kawasaki Z650 - all established in the class.
CFMoto’s entry now comes as part of its relationship with KTM. The Austrian brand has reintroduced the 790 Adventure and 790 Duke to its range for 2023, and CFMoto can take much of the credit for that, as the 799cc engines used in those machines are being built by the Chinese manufacturer.
CFMoto also gets its own sports naked out of that deal, in the shape of the 800 NK - previously revealed by CFMoto as the NK-C22 concept motorcycle. Here, we find 100 horsepower at 9,000rpm, Motociclismo reports. Additionally, there are upside-down forks at the front, ABS operating on J.Juan brakes front and rear, and a wet weight of 186kg.
That means the CFMoto is both more powerful and lighter than its Japanese rivals from Honda and Suzuki, and essentially makes its closest rival the bike with which it shares an engine: the KTM 790 Duke.
Pricing and availability for the CFMoto 800 NK are as yet unavailable, but a UK price in the range of £8,000 would not be a terrible estimate, considering the £7,999 price of the KTM 790 Duke.
