2021 KTM 890 Adventure full spec features and details
Just two weeks after the launch of the Adventure R and Adventure R Rally, KTM launches the KTM 890 Adventure – the entry point into the range
THE KTM 890 Adventure has been launched as the new entry point into the 890 Adventure range. The news comes around two weeks after the Austrian firm released its top-spec 890 Adventure R and limited edition Rally machines.
As with the previously announced machines, the new bike’s big news story is the updated Euro5 compliant engine, swelling from 799cc to 889cc. Power is up to 105hp (around 10hp more than before), and torque is also increased to 73lb-ft, an increase of just under 10lb-ft. The 890 Adventure shuns convention with a crank assembly that includes 20% more mass than before, something that KTM claim gives the bike better delivery and more low-end grunt.

Backing up the engine is a revised clutch that is stronger than before to deal with the increase in power and torque, while the gearbox has also been updated to clean up and speed up the changes.
The entry-level 890 Adventure is a much more multi-purpose machine than the bikes announced previously this month. And the suspension is the main factor in setting the models apart. The settings on this bike are designed to give the best of both worlds riding experience, with KTM stating that the bike is placed ‘firmly between use for the tarmac and the trail’.
The Adventure also gets an adjustable seat, 800 to 850mm, a low-level front mudguard, a 20l fuel tank, and the inclusion of the KTM MY RIDE navigation system. The 890 Adventure also gains cruise control as standard.
The new KTM 890 Adventure is set to land in dealerships from January 2021 onwards.
