All-new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 teased ahead of big debut
The brand-new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 shows its face ahead of its world premiere, becoming a new entry point into the popular Tiger range
Barely a month seems to go by without the wraps coming off a new or updated Triumph model and October will be no exception as the British marque prepares to launch the first spin-off from its 660 platform, the Triumph Tiger Sport 660.
Receiving its world premiere on October 5th [Tuesday], the Tiger Sport 660 comes hot on the heels of the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR revealed last month.
Having given us a fairly definitive glimpse of what to expect with the release of images showing a camouflaged prototype covered in snazzy Triumph decals in a semi-successful attempt to disguise its final appearance, Triumph has now unveiled some of the finer details in a handful of teaser shots.
Showing exactly how the front-end will look, though the new mid-range Sport Tourer is inspired by the larger Triumph Tiger Sport 850, the 660 variant debuts a fresh take on the familiar family face, with a sharper, more distinguished snout and dual-tone colour combinations.
Indeed, while many have been campaigning for a so-called ‘Tiger Cub’ for some time, the Tiger Sport 660 will lean more towards daily commute and long distance use, rather than out-and-out adventure riding.
It is the second model to come from the ‘660’ platform that debuted with the Trident naked around a year ago. Representing a new entry point into the range, the roadster has proven a significant success for the British marque, which looks to have set the marque on course for a lucrative year in terms of sales.
It will also be the first of two Tiger models to be launched in the coming weeks with a major update for the flagship Triumph Tiger 1200 also waiting in the wings.
