Bye-bye CBR250R, hello CBR300R

HONDA has revealed a surprise update to its CBR250R – giving it new bodywork and a bigger engine for 2014.

The new bike was revealed today in China, but has been confirmed as a ‘global’ model, to be made at the firm’s factory in Thailand just like its 250cc predecessor.

Honda hasn’t announced detailed specs just yet, but the name implies a 300cc engine – probably achieved by boring out the existing 250cc motor. The chassis and suspension appear unchanged, while the styling has a new, Fireblade-inspired nose instead of the VFR1200F-alike design of the CBR250R. Every body panel appears to be new, as is the exhaust.
