Ducati has debuted the second episode of its seven-part web series, and with it the 2023 Monster SP.

Even though the latest version launched only quite recently, the Monster is a motorcyle that almost gets lost in the vast roster of current Ducati motorcycles. With Multistradas, Streetfighters, Diavels, Panigales, and Scramblers being joined by the DesertX as well, there are almost infinite options for an almost infinite number of possible applications currently available from the Bologna manufacturer.

But, the Ducati Monster remains one of the brand's most affordable motorcycles, but that does not mean it has lost the attention of the factory. Instead, a new version will be launched for 2023, the Monster SP, which does pretty much what you’d expect for a bike which was announced during an episode of Ducati’s World Premiere called “Mad for Fun”.

The suspension is fully-adjustable, 600 grams lighter than that used on the standard Monster, and comes from Ohlins; the brakes (with 320mm front discs that are 0.5kg lighter than standard) are from Brembo and the exhaust from Termignoni. The frame is derived from WorldSBK, and even the paint is race-inspired, coming from the Desmosedici of MotoGP.

Furthermore, the bike features a steering damper, for improved stability, and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres. The riding modes are recalibrated, a new wet weather mode is introduced, and launch control is there to ensure fast- well, launches - when required.
