Updates for BMW F700GS and F800GS
New exhaust, riding modes and Euro4-compliance for BMW’s GS middleweights
BMW HAS announced a round of updates to its F700 and F800GS range for 2017, including a new exhaust and riding modes.
All models in the range now comply with the latest Euro4 emission limits thanks in part to a redesigned stainless steel exhaust.
A full ride-by-wire throttle system offers an improved response according to BMW, with two new riding modes – ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ – as standard. Additional ‘Enduro’ and ‘Enduro Pro’ modes are available as an option on the F800GS and F800GS Adventure, which use the same 798cc parallel-twin engine as the F700GS in a more off-road biased package, making 10hp more, at 85hp.
All models get newly designed instrument dials which BMW says are easier to read, plus new colour options.
The F800GS Adventure also gets a new galvanised radiator trim sporting a ‘GS’ emblem.
