Yamaha reveals R6 price and specs

YAMAHA’S 2017 YZF-R6 makes 118.4hp and will cost £10,999 when it arrives in UK dealers in April, the firm has just announced.

Peak power comes at 14,500rpm and peak torque of 45.5lbft at 10,500rpm.

Honda’s CBR600RR and Suzuki’s GSX-R600 start from £8,999, while Kawasaki’s ZX6-R starts from £8,899. The CBR makes 119hp, the ZX-R 128hp and the GSX-R 126hp.

However, the R6 gets new electronics including six-level traction control and a quick-shifter, plus new styling. The 599cc in-line-four is also Euro4 emission-compliant. Read more about it here.

Yamaha announced the price and specs as the press launch kicked off in Spain.
