Caberg has launched a new flip-up motorcycle helmet, the Horus X, aimed at the touring segment.

The Horus X builds on the base established by the previous Horus modular helmet, and adds to Caberg’s 2023 range of motorcycle helmets.

Caberg’s development of the Horus X has homologated it to ECE 22.06 P/J standards, and followed a path towards creating a comfortable and safe helmet.

One of the developments on Caberg’s latest modular design is its chin guard’s alternative rotation centre compared to the visor. The intention of this feature is reduce the ‘sail’ effect of the chin guard when it is in the raised position by keeping its distance to the main shell small while raised.

A wide field of view is also a part of the Horus X’s design, thanks to its 82-degree front opening port, which Caberg says will also improve safety because necessary head movement is reduced when needing to look down at the dashboard, for example.

Further, the visor itself features a Pinlock Max Vision lens, itself featuring anti-fog qualities, and behind it a Double Visor Tech sun visor.

As for the Horus X’s ventilation, it is modifiable thanks to an adjustable air intake on the chin. There is also a larger intake on the upper part of the helmet, and two extractor vents at the back of the helmet.

On the inside, Caberg has used removable and washable fabrics that ensure “excellent comfort in any weather condition and maximum breathability,” Caberg says.

Bluetooth connectivity is also available by equipping the Horus X with the Caberg Pro Speak Evo communication system.

A second version, the Horus X Road, is the graphic option for the helmet and comes in four colours, the “Matt Anthracite, Fuscia and Black” option being only available in the sizes XS-M.

The Caberg Horus X will retail for €279.99 (around £245 at time of writing, January 2023), while the Caberg Horus X Road will retail for €319.99 (around £280 at time of writing).
