Merlin Motorcycle Clothing Explorer Collection announced
Merlin Motorcycle Clothing has launched a different take on adventure bike riding gear with the Explorer collection
ADVENTURE motorcycle clothing is, for the most part, fairly eye-catching stuff. Garish logos, bright colours and a kind of Power Ranger aesthetic dominate the sector. Until now that is, as Merlin Motorcycle Clothing has announced the classically styled Explorer Collection.
Billed as an alternative to traditional ADV riding gear, the Merlin Explorer collection is all about the retro feel, rounded out with high-tech protection and quality materials. Waxed cotton finishes, Cordura, and sturdy leather are the order of the day, with boots, jackets, trousers, and gloves all tailored for style-conscious adventure motorcycle riders.
We aren’t going to outline the entire collection in this article, although you can check it out for yourself by clicking here. Instead, we’re going to take a look at some of the products from each section that have caught our eye.
Merlin Monty D3O Waxed Cotton Jacket
The Monty is a classically styled waxed cotton motorcycle jacket, that really wouldn’t look out of place in some grainy black and white photograph from the archives of motorcycling.
The exterior is Halley Stevensons waxed cotton outer that is joined by a removable waterproof membrane and thermal liner. Protection comes in the form of a seven-piece D3O armour package in the shoulders, elbows, back, and chest. All of which was pre-fitted for you.
The Monty comes in either black or olive, comes in sizes small to 4XL, and has an RRP of £379.99
Bandit D3O Waterproof Boot
I’m a big fan of motorcycle riding kit that doesn’t look like riding kit. That is what the Bandit WP boots are.
Built from sturdy cowhide leather, the interior features D3O impact protectors, a padded tongue, and a reinforced footbed for crush protection.
They are launching in either black or brown, come in sizes 7 to 12, and have an RRP of £149.99.
Ranger D3O Waterproof Gloves
Waxed cotton motorcycle gloves are something of a rarity, making the Ranger a fairly eye-catching option. The palm is reinforced with cowhide and reinforcement panels, while a D3O knuckle guard is added for extra protection.
The Ranger D3O Waterproof Gloves come in sizes S to 3XL, colours black or olive, and has an RRP of £79.99.
