IOM TT: Swine flu to halt TT races?

THE ISLE of Man's Chief Minister, Tony Brown, has said that it's 'too early' to decide whether the outbreak of swine flu will put a halt to this year's Isle of Man TT.

At a press conference Mr Brown said: "Like every country around the world we are taking appropriate precautions in terms of giving the public advice as to what they should do. We want to give confidence now to the people of the Isle of Man that the Isle of Man Government is conscious to the potential of a pandemic and has been preparing for that."

When asked specifically about the running of this year's races, the Minister admitted it was 'too early to say'.

"It's important that we don't move too quickly on that and make decisions that we shouldn't make. But at the moment the TT is going ahead."

Earlier this week, Visordown exclusively revealed that eight-time motorcycle World Champion Valentino Rossi is to visit the Island during TT fortnight.
