Video: Martin storms off TT podium
Lincolnshire rider shows his feelings over pit lane speeding penalty
RACING RENEGADE Guy Martin stormed off the TT podium last week in protest to being stripped of his second place finish in the TT Superbike race.
Race officials deemed Martin had exceeded the pit lane speed limit by 0.122kph, when the Lincolnshire rider exited on his CBR1000RR Fireblade. The error also cost Martin the £7,000 prize money.
In the run-up to the 2010 event, it's alleged Martin told event organisers to "keep your start money" following a pre-race spat, which some say could have contributed to the tough stance taken on Martin's miniscule speeding error.
And the bad news continued for the charasmatic racer as he crashed out of the Senior event, escaping serious injury in the 150mph fireball.
Following the incident, which took place at Ballagarey, Martin was airlifted to Nobles Hospital for treatment.
He's due to be released from hospital later today (Wednesday).
