THE REIGNING MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo has continued his winning ways during the first round of the season in Qatar and leads the Championship standings by 5-points. 

With Lorenzo finishing first and gaining the full 25-points, Ducati's Andrew Dovizioso is in second 5-points adrift and Marc Marquez a further 9-points behind the leader. 

Lorenzo's team-mate Valentino Rossi is fourth with Dani Pedrosa completing the top five. British riders Bradley Smith and Scott Redding are eight and tenth respectively followed by Aleix Espargaro, Eugene Laverty, Alvaro Bautista, Jack Miller and Tito Rabat in fifteenth. 

Stefan Bradl, Loris Baz, Cal Crutchlow, Andrea Iannone and Yonny Hernandez all end the first round of the season with 0 points. 

The next round takes place in two weeks' in Argentina.
