Manx GP: Ian Bainbridge loses his life
Manx Grand Prix racer Ian Bainbridge has died after a crash in the second qualifying session
VETERAN Manx Grand Prix racer Ian Bainbridge has died following a crash during the second qualifying session of the 2023 event.
The incident occurred on the exit of Kirk Michael village on his first lap of the session. Mr Bainbridge, 69, from Barnard Castle, was a regular on the mountain course, first competing in the Manx GP in 2005 and only missing two events in that time. His headline result at the race came in the 2010 Classic Senior Manx Grand Prix when he chalked up an eighth-place finish.
All at Visordown sends its deepest condolences to his family and his friends both inside and outside of the paddock.
