Watch Souped-Up Kawasaki ZX-4R hit 183mph
A Japanese dealer has boosted a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R with a turbocharger to achieve one of the fastest speeds recorded for a 400cc bike

Japanese dealership Trick Star has set one of the fastest top speeds ever recorded on a 400cc motorcycle, taking a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R to 295kph (183.3mph).
Trick Star is no stranger to attempting records. It has also done the same with the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R, which it dragged to an astonishing 155mph.
Getting the ZX-4R to achieve its bonkers top speed of just over 180mph didn’t come easy for the company, though. On the previous occasion that it was taken to the drag strip the bike produced a top speed of 163mph, and while still very impressive, it’s not the 183.3mph that it set this time around.
During its first visit to the drag strip the inline-four engine blazed into a blur of white smoke on the final run (third attempt). But Trick Star rebuilt the bike and took it back to the strip to top the magic 180mph.
The turbocharger was done in-house by Trick Star, and you can spot it tucked away between the middle and lower fairings. The fairings themselves are custom-made and designed to make space for the turbo. They’ve been produced in a white and green livery which is typical of Trick Star’s bikes.
A total of three runs were attempted, with the fastest one of those coming on the final run. The first and second runs were also very close to the 183mph mark as it reached a top speed of 181mph on the first run before going 1mph better on its second run.
