Cyclone RC600 Gives You Wings
Go big or go home seems to be the thinking behind this design, as the Cyclone RC600 debuts with mammoth aero
The Chinese motorcycle maker Cyclone has unveiled a wild-looking ‘supersport’ contender in the form of the RC600, complete with some ginormous front wings.
The bike, thought to be specifically for the Asian market at the time of writing, is the RC600 Centennial Edition, which was unveiled at the China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition (CIMA). With its outlandish looks and lurid yellow paint job, the bike unsurprisingly took centre stage, as it lined up alongside Cyclone’s other more retro and custom bikes.
The wild front aero design of the RC600 looks to be the kind of set-up that can generate significant amounts of downforce. And that’s a good thing because the RS600’s twin-cylinder engine makes a heady *checks notes* 58bhp.
The rest of the bike is the kind of fairly standard stuff we come to expect from a maker like this. USD forks are paired with J.Juan brakes at the front, while other technical ‘highlights’ include a TFT dash, and LED lights. It also gains a traction control system, which will come in handy when that monster engine overcomes the gargantuan aero and the front wheel heads skyward. Or maybe not.
One thing the RC600 does have going for it is the price. According to Moto-Station, the RC600 will be rolling into Chinese dealerships with a price tag of £3,100 dangling from the rear-view mirror. We can only hope and pray it makes it to British shores, so finally we can experience MotoGP-levels of downforce on the commute to work.
