Turn your Yamaha Ténéré 700 into a retro Dakar racer!
Crispy Club has developed a bolt-on kit for the Yamaha Ténéré 700 that transforms the bike into a retro-styled Dakar Rally machine
WHILE there is no doubting the off-road credentials of the hyper-successful Yamaha Ténéré 700, it is also true that its slightly outlandish styling doesn’t sit well with all.
And that is a shame, as Yamaha has proved time and time again with bikes that the XSR700 and XSR900, you can teach a new bike retro tricks – if you catch my drift.
It’s fairly surprising to see that Yamaha hasn’t taken this route of its own accord, and it’s absolutely no surprise to see that people are taking up the initiative.
With a clear passion for all things classic Dakar, Parisian custom shop Crispy Club (yep, weird name!) has come up with a bolt-on at-home kit for the Ultra-modern Ténéré, transforming it into the bike you see before you.
It’s not dissimilar in style to the Rally Edition that was announced in 2020, although the addition of the body kit and headlight shroud just gives the bike a little extra oomph in the styling department!
Included in the kit are some radiator shrouds, a headlight cowl with LED light, an off-set instrument bracket, and some high-mounted front and rear mudguards. Crispy Club is claiming the kit is ready to fit right from the off, and they even give the whole lot a coat of paint to mimic Yamaha’s rally bikes of the 80s and 90s. Tasty stuff.
There are two kits available for the Ténéré, The first costs €2,900, and comes in four colour options. The second is the kit you see here, complete with all the tasty Dakar graphics pre-painted. That comes in at €3,900.
