Ducati launches electric bike
Electric MOUNTAIN bike, that is...
IF YOU’RE in the market for a mountain bike, Ducati likely isn’t the first place you’d look.
But the Italian motorcycle manufacturer has announced the launch of the MIG-RR, an electric mountain bike, designed and built by the Ducati Design Centre in close collaboration with Italian company Thok Ebikes.
Due to make its debut at EICMA, the e-mtb is based on Thok’s MIG series, but boasts some enduro motorcycle inspired features, including Mavic wheels with different diameters (29” at the front and 27.5” at the rear) and the FOX Factory Kashima suspension set-ups with different degrees of travel (170 mm and 160 mm at the rear).
A Shimano Steps E8000 motor - making 250 Watts– is positioned in the downtube, and powered by a 504 Wh battery.
Other high-level components include carbon fibre Renthal handlebars, 4-caliper Shimano Saint brakes and an 11-speed Shimano XT gear set.
The Ducati MIG-RR will go on sale online in January 2019, with deliveries starting in spring.
