BMW K1600 Grand America debuts
A K1600 Bagger with a top case and higher spec
WE showed it to you in BMW patent drawings last week and now here it is for real.
It’s the new K1600 Grand America, essentially the six-cylinder K1600 B with a top case.
That’s not all it gets. Along with the top case, it gains an integrated pillion back-rest along with an additional high-level brake like.
It benefits from BMW’s ‘Dynamic ESA’ electronic suspension adjustment as standard, providing automated damping adjustments according to conditions and the riding mode chosen.
As standard, it also gets feet-forward footboards in addition to the pegs for long-distance comfort, plus a high screen, engine protection bars, heated grips and seats, cruise control and an audio system.
It was revealed today at the Eicma motorcycle show in Milan, in two colour schemes: black or black-yellow.
BMW said in a press release: ‘Derived from the BMW K 1600 B, the new model combines the supreme performance of its 6cylinder engine with exclusive equipment features that make long-distance rides both comfortable and fascinating in American highway cruising style, whether solo or with a passenger.’
