WSBK riders Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes have revealed this year's livery
KAWASAKI Racing Team have launched the new 2016 ZX-10R this week in Barcelona, alongside the unveiling of the new World Superbike livery.
Reigning World Superbike Champion Jonathan Rea and former World Superbike Champion Tom Sykes introduced Kawasaki's latest incarnation in a team presentation where they celebrated past success and their conquest for further glory.
Taking to the stage to discuss the new bike and winter preparations ahead of 2016 Rea explained: 'Most bikes I’ve ever ridden, you see them and it takes some time but when I saw the bike at photo shooting last week I was like ‘Wow, they got that design right!’.
'I’m really excited about riding it, especially with the first Round coming up in two weeks. I can’t wait to race now, it’s been a long winter!'
Team-mate Sykes, who took second in third in the 2015 Championship, is ready to bounce back after admitting last year was rather challenging. The Yorkshireman equally looks ahead to the coming season with high motivation, eager to get started: 'I’m very blessed to have this package and this bike underneath me for 2016. I can’t wait to begin!'
The new Ninja is ready to defend the crown as World Superbike Championships begins at Phillip Island in the southern Australian state of Victoria later in February with Rea facing the chance of becoming the first back-to-back Champion of the new millenium.
