Should CFMoto Build This 450MT-Based Supermoto

RSD and CFMoto teamed up to create a bike that Sands has nicknamed “Tha Vandal”

Roland Sands Design (RSD) and CFMoto teamed up to take the Chinese brand’s dinky (yet highly entertaining) ADV in a whole new direction.

The bike, which Sands has called “The Vandal” is based on the lightweight 450 MT (called the Ibex 450 in the USA), although while that bike is an off-road traillie, the RSD bike looks to highlight its on-road potential. And what better way to do that than with a supermoto?

Sands himself describes it as a "mini super hooligan/supermoto mix" and it has been created with the help of ‘mostly’ stock CFMoto parts and a handful of performance accessories. The fuel tank, for instance, is the same as the stock 450 MT, as is the main and sub-frame, engine and swingarm.

From there it goes in a very different direction, with Sands borrowing parts from the 450 SS sports bike, such as the wheels, brakes, and rearsets. He then mated the chassis to Gears Racing long travel suspension at the front and rear, giving the bike that unmistakable supermoto stance.

Shortly after the bike was completed, Sands and his team took the bike to the Moto Beach Classic, held at Bolsa Chica State Beach, California. There it took part in supermoto demo runs and the Moto Beach Gymkhana race, where competitors took on tight turns, and low-speed obstacles. Now we just think CFMoto should pull its finger out and build it!
